Equi-N-icE is made from a special cotton bandage With its own natural elasticity to provide support.
The bandage is 10cm wide and 2m long, it is impregnated with a special cooling fluid which cools by rapid evaporation once applied.
Remove the Ice bandage from its resealable packet and wrap around the leg or area to be treated.
The treated area will drop 15°c and stay that way for 3 hours.
Horse maybe worked while wearing the Ice bandage simply stitch or tape in place. It will not impede movement and easily be applied to knees and hocks
Once used the Ice bandage can be washed and reused by adding enough ready mixed Coolant to make the Ice bandage damp and replace in the re-sealable pouch provided until needed again.
The Coolant is supplied in correct concentration for direct application for ease of use and avoiding potential error in dilution.
It is non irritant to skin, and 1 litre of Coolant is sufficient for at least 20 bandages.

This Rapid Cooler is an unique alternative to conventional 'sweat rugs' which rely on air convection alone for their cooling effect. However, effective heat loss through sweating requires evaporation as well as convection.
The Rapid Cooler achieves the perfect combination of both, dropping the horse's core body temperature as quickly and safely as possible.

Horses that are hot or racing in hot climates but are cooled quickly are less likely to suffer heat stress. They recover more quickly, avoid dehydration and consistently perform better. Excessive stress due to heat results in muscle injury and breakdown as well as longer term physiological problems. During exercise there is a significant increase in the amount of heat produced by working muscles. Heat production can increase by as much as 50% during periods of intensive exercise. In response, a horse increases its sweating rate, moves more blood to the capillaries under the skin and increases its rate of breathing in an effort to release this build-up of heat.
Effective heat loss through sweat requires convection and evaporation. The Equi-N-icE Rapid Cooler provides quick evaporation and therefore cools muscles faster speeding recovery times.
